The stars are only for the nice apartment complex and the way it looks. My dog got fleas just two days after moving in and good thing we found them and eradicated them from the apartment. But last week, my husband and I went to the hot tub next to the pool and he got really bad hot tub folliculitis all over his body. For those of you who don’t know hot tub folliculitis is a skin infection from bacteria growing in hot tubs that are not properly cleaned and chlorinated. So I would advise anyone wanting to go to the hot tub to be careful. I managed to escape it somehow but my husband has more sensitive skin and was able to get infected. Terra house, please clean your hot tubs regularly

This is my second time I'm renting at Terra apartments and I absolutely love it how the team is professional, helpful, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Thanks to the kindness, patience, and professionalism of the team. I'm truly grateful — it felt less like a service and more like being genuinely looked after. Special thanks to Jeanette and Anu, they worked as a team even far from each other to make my request happen even it was almost end of the working day. Appreciate that so much.

Don’t move in here. We’re pretty lenient on circumstances but this apartment complex is not worth the constant headaches. People’s cars are constantly being broken into. Shady people always strolling in to complex and stolen packages all the time. Coat efficient yes, but not really if you are the unfortunate person in one of many situations. Security comes once the whole night so that helps.

This place is an entire con show. After only one year of being here they raise the rent and all the monthly fees to re-sign, despite not taking care of issues from the start. Broken wood on external stairs, screens in windows not properly fitting, 500 dollar electric bills 6 months out of the year yet no properly working AC. When a work order was put in for the AC when we first were there maintenance told us thats as good as it gets even if they replace it it won't cool any better. 95 inside during the spring is not ok. Blamed us for not knowing how to use a garage door opener that stopped working multiple times. It was so old pieces were falling off of it. Roach issues even though you pay monthly for pest control. Parking and getting around inside the complex is always an issue. During pre move out inspection, which they missed the original appt and we had to come back another day, they made a comment about how clean it was and then started finding things to nit pick on. They are keeping half our deposit for a few specs of baked on grease in the oven and for not cleaning the outside portion of the old stained windows, we were on the second floor and the windows looked like that when we moved in. Maintaince man broke multiple, previously unbroken, vertical blinds on front window in front of current tenant and laughed about it when tenant said those weren't broken why are you breaking more. The front office told tenants weeks before that the carpets would be cleaned by the landlords company as part of normal exchange service, no charge to tenants, upon move out so unless there was damage we wouldn't need to pay. Then during inspection that story changes and they charge for carpet cleaning no matter what you do. They always acted weird and made jokes when we would request to be home when they did come for maintenance due to the cats. They treated us differently and some times offstandish with us which felt racist and homophobic. Overall, avoid this place at all costs. You can find much nicer, and cheaper, places to live. Do not give them your money or time, you won't get any of it back if they have their way. Update/response to the manager: you all didn't take care of anything we told you about when we first moved in including the dangerous broken wood on the top step that was a tripping hazard. Your staff is unprofessional and your maintenance did damage to more blinds after I left our pre move out inspection. I come to do a final check on our last day and multiple vertical blinds pieces were broken on the floor in the on-suite bedroom. I have pictures showing it was not like that before. Based on past observed behavior your maintenance man went in and aggressively poked them in the bedroom to break more. If I see any charges for those blinds I will be contacting my lawyer. Based on your other reviews none of this is a surprise.

Loss of words right now. In short, we signed a walk through document that we left with empty fields on it as "they didn't have the exact breakdown of costs for a partial paint and other work needed.." for the unit but were told that 'there was no way it would be over our security deposit.' We had thought it was all fine and that we had paid what we owed. Now without hearing from them for well over a year we are getting a call from a debt collector since there was apparently 1200 dollars worth of painting and carpet cleaning was needed even though they told us it would not be. Overall: Really regret getting involved with this place. Someone took my photo and they sent me an email stating something along the lines of 'we have a photo of you from another tenant of you walking your dog without a leash' during a two week period I wasn't even in San Jose... This place is crooked. Go to Rosewalk down the street - I miss that place everyday, especially compared to apartment complexes like Terra House. Avoid at all costs. Edited in response of owner: In what world do you think encouraging tenants to take photos of each other is great idea? This created a great environment after I shared it with neighbors- we started to share moments of people breaking rules. Also, I ask again for you to please send me this photo to my email. It's strange that you won't share the photo that someone took of me. I never said that our security deposit was that. I said somehow there was 1200 dollars worth of paint and carpet cleaning when 100% there was not. This response is the exact reason as to why you should avoid this place. Have a lovely holiday!

I went to tour these apartments, and first off, the staff are very welcoming and accommodating! Setting up an appointment was really easy, and the staff got back to me in a timely manner. The fitness center in the office has free weights which is a plus. These apartments are definitely in my top 3 choices!

I love living here because it’s always clean when I go out to my car in the mornings. And the maintenance are awesome. They fix everything that is broken On a timely manner. When I go out on my walk, people smile or say hello walking pass them. And it’s got a dog park, which is very convenient for my dog.

This complex has multiple pests and insects from mice, cockroaches, flying cockroaches, large flying bugs, ants, and various other insects unidentifiable. They would constantly invade the apartment and property management did nothing to mediate the situation even though we put in multiple ticket requests. Yet, they have the audacity to charge us every month for pest control. There are burglars and car break-ins weekly. My roommate and I pay for a parking garage and a parking spot, and our cars constantly got broken into. Property management is too cheap to hire security and make the renters feel safe. The property management posts the utility statements 3 months behind, and when you move out, they will charge you a late fee for not paying the full statement even though it is incorrect and 3 months behind.. So they wanted me to pay a full month's rent even though it was suppose to be updated to be prorated. I would have been in debt to them and I doubt they would have paid me back. They also charged me a service fee for an additional month past my move out date which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The vibe I got from this place is a money grab. DO NOT rent here.
